Saving time with Niko wall ducts
Just as in all of its other projects, installation firm Joop Elders installed Niko wall ducts in a new medical centre located in Raalte. “The Niko material simply mounts easily and quickly”, says project manager Marc Heusinkveld. “This enables us to save valuable time.”
Medical centre ’t Raan in Halte accommodates a family doctor practice, a pharmacy and a dentist’s office. With its large glass sections, the new building has been an eye-catcher in this commune of almost 40,000 inhabitants since it was inaugurated in the spring of 2008. Installation firm Joop Elders Totaalinstallateur BV installed 270 m Niko wall ducts. These ducts carry data and power cables. Marc Heusinkveld was the project manager for this project.
Marc Heusinkveld: “We have been using Niko installation ducts in all our projects since they were introduced. The installation ducts are not only easy to install but also look great. The material is pleasant to work with. We also use Niko switch material and home automation.”
Quickly solved
Another challenge was posed by the Dutch regulation on electrical installations in the medical sector. The regulation imposes the application of equipotential bonding as a protective measure. In Medical Centre ’t Raan, the installation ducts had to be provided with 21 equipotential bonding contacts.
Marc Heusinkveld: “Niko had already studied the issue, but had not yet received a specific demand from the market. As a result, they had no ready-made solution for the Dutch market. It took them no time to find one, however, and to supply the required material. Niko is a great company to do business with. They deliver promptly. And the Niko representative keeps the finger on the pulse. We usually see him every three weeks. With other suppliers there may be as much as a year between two contacts.”
